Restoring the mauri and flow of the Foxton River Loop.

At Save Our River Trust (SORT), we're driven by a shared commitment to restoring and conserving Piriharakeke (the Manawatū River Loop at Foxton) and our waterways beyond.

Our journey began with a recognition of the environmental degradation caused by mismanaged earthworks in 1943, altering the natural course of the Manawatū River and impacting the well-being of the River Loop and Te Awahou (Foxton).

From the Piriharakeke Walkway to the $3.86 million dollar upgrade to the River Loop Reserve. Our team of volunteers have been taking action for over 20 years.

Community-Led

It’s because of dedicated leadership, visionaries, experts, shovel-ready locals, and a new generation of movers and shakers volunteering at SORT, that we're making a difference twenty years on.

Help us restore flow to the River Loop

Whether you're a generous member of the community eager to support our mission, a local business interested in sponsoring our next event, or someone with a passion for restoring the Foxton River Loop, there's a way for you to make a difference.
